Countless is the number of parishioners who have served our brothers and sisters in the greatest need within our Parish Boundaries since the Conference was formed. Just as Jesus, and now Pope Francis call us to do, SVdP members put their faith into action through encountering and accompanying all children of God in need, for in our siblings we encounter Christ and we are evangelized by their stories and those experiences. Our Oneness in the Trinity is truly affirmed!
Our normal model of service is to visit the homes of those in need within All Souls Parish boundaries. Most recently, however, during the COVID pandemic our members have had to creatively address calls for rent, food, clothing and holiday help. These are all unmet needs that other agencies cannot address, which means that SVdP services become the City of South San Francisco’s Safety Net!
In the past calendar year alone, we have responded to over 100 families and individuals who have requested assistance! Last year our direct assistance exceeds $75,000 (these funds come from other parishes that twin with us, generous donors/benefactors, SVdP’s District Council and four parish 5th Sunday collections annually). Dads who lost their jobs due to COVID lay offs; single mother’s trying to keep babies and small children housed; injured or COVID recovering single adults who cannot access benefits; class room assistants who need food assistance because of hours cut back - these are just a fraction of the reasons help is requested. If you are large family, just imagine how difficult it is to survive, with less income, and growing children! Additionally, help for those who are homeless is provided at Cafe St. Vincent in the SVdP Thrift store on Grand Ave.
Your prayers and financial assistance are what sustain us and helps SVdP help others. You are part of every visit made and every resource shared. Gratitude abounds from the All Souls Conference for your ongoing support. You put smiles of gratitude and relief on the faces of those assisted!

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."
Matthew 28: 18-20 (RSV-CE)
